When I first "went online" the interface the allowed me to do it was Internet Explorer. And I kept loyal to it for almost a decade.
Then a Firefox period came for me. I only recently completely gave up on Firefox, because it needs too much memory (and has memory leaks, at least on Windows) and thus crashes often if used intensely.
Complementary to Firefox, I used Chrome at least for a few years. But again, it needs too much memory and it's very slow after enough (and intense) usage.
Someone heard me complain about Chrome at some point and recommended me Opera. Same base engine (Chromium), but a much lighter browser and works like a charm. Never crashed on me, and unless I open 20+ tabs or something like that, it doesn't have speed issues.
Memory print of the browser is important to me because I don't have enough RAM on the laptop to afford something that consumes a lot of it, and also, being a laptop, I often make use of the 'hibernate' feature when I close the lid.
I also tried the Brave browser. The nice things about it are the shields and rewards, There is no ad module in my country yet, or that would be interesting as well, since the ad income is distributed to/shared with the users. But otherwise it suffers from the same issue as Chrome: too slow when used intensely (at least on my low-mid class laptop).
For now I stick with Opera. Every once in a while I check out Brave to see if it's worth switching to it, at least partly.
