BitTube founder Saber Maram announced some news on his Discord channel that he had not intended to reveal until 2019. I guess he was too excited and could not wait any longer to share the news.
He posted that BitTube will be transforming into a social media vid platform. He mentioned in another post that it will be ready for closed beta in February or March.
He has already said that BitTube's Airtime extension
