Dpoll 59: Shouldn't this platform attract more women?

Why do we promote Steem?

Frequently I read Steemit needs more people to join in. To be honest I wonder why. There are plenty of new articles posted daily and the biggest part is never read, commented or receives an upvote. New Steemians/members are limited if it comes to: publishing, commenting, upvoting unless they buy Steem. The only thing they can do is read. They can read but not comment or perhaps do so twice a day.

It's no secret most Steemians are only here to post and leave. They are not interested in reading or reading long articles. It takes time and for non native (English) speakers even more. It's not a secret either that reading on a screen is not the same as reading a book and hardly anyone reads a book these days.

The reading behavior has changed. No matter what is "asked" or required, a ln article of 1000 words is hardly read and not popular. What is written in 1000 words or more can be written in 500 too if the writer knows how to say more with less words. It annoys to read over and over agsin the same phrases. Readers are not stupid.

It is a fact generally speaking women read more and faster as men and socialize more. If this platform needs new members at all, want to be social, more readers and commenters are needed. People who are willing to engage.

Wouldn't it be more logical to attract women more to achieve what this platform needs most?
