Uncertainty in regulations is an obstacle to the development in this field.

A number of people still hope that cryptocurrencies will eventually get regularized and will pave the way for them to use cryptos for their needs by earning it without any fear etc.

We do know that there have been some scams in the ICOs which was kind of sit back for the crypto world itself but probably with the regulation of ICOs people might be able to invest without any risk of loosing money to scammers. It might work as a filter.
